I saw Grandma in the Mirror Today

I saw Grandma in the Mirror Today By Diana Pierce

I saw grandma in the mirror today.

I smiled and said “Hello.”

She saw into my very soul,

As only grandmas know,

She looks so wrinkled,

And she’s turning grey,

No reason for me to fret,

I know she’ll be okay.

I saw grandma’s image,

As I passed the mirror,

A time warp catches me,

And I see her disappear,

Not like a Quantum leap,

Or a mission through space,

Just a close encounter,

With a familiar face,

I search into the looking glass,

And see a warm reflection,

Of the dearest lady ever lived,

That gave me her affection.

Many moons have come and gone,

But missing her will always be,

So when I feel I need to see her,

The mirror’s reflection is of me.

Hi Diana. A nice poem Diana. Reflecting on life and leading home in the end. I enjoyed it.

No, Jackie. It's not a bad thing. Special people in all of us surface every now and then. I'm proud to share their looks and their wisdom. Thanks for your kind comment.

Great reflections Diana! I see my mom in the mirror...closer every day. Not a bad thing is it? Especially of someone we love so much.

      Great poetry!
