Finger Guns

Updated on April 28, 2017

Hold up your finger gun and face me

I am on the run,

Disgrace is chasing close behind me

It seems like fun

Like you're the one

To chase and fight with finger guns.

No need for bullets or anger or hate

Only childlike joy

Only comforting fate,

But it seems like we realized a little too late,

That finger guns turn into real ones

Finger guns are fun until the real gun appear. Thought provoking poem!

I always wonder about the connection. Seeing how every kid I know and every adult I know, did it and none of them have ever shot anyone - I doubt there is a connection. In fact quite the opposite. The deranged ones never played with anyone.

      But I love the poetry.

Yes. A bit like rain being only a drizzle, so we do not take our umbrellas. Then in pours in torrents and we are found wanting. Meaningful poetry.
