Finding My Peace

Updated on March 24, 2017

Silence

I dive down deep

Stillness and quiet envelope me

Quiet

So quiet

The constant screaming stops

Familiar noises are gone and I sink

Lower and lower into the white silence

Slowly, new sounds

Not noise anymore

Whispers of another world

Conversations uttered from beings that I haven't met, but have known all along

Sounds come a little louder

Beckoning me around corners

Through tunnels

To swim

Deeper and farther

Sounds that don't hurt

Voices that don't sting

Only soft waves that speak

Of places I want to stay

-Stay

Please stay longer

There is peace here with us-

Too soon, human life shocks me

back to the surface

Noises crash through voices,

Reducing them now,

to startled silence

Eventually yanking me back to surface

There are comebacks and there are COMEBACKS - great piece, very thought provoking
