Don't Turn Your Back on Your Guardian Angel: A Poem

Updated on August 10, 2017

Val is a life-long student of the psycho-philosophy of living and a devoted practitioner of many techniques that enhance personal evolution.

Don't forsake that whisper of your inner guide

the one ignited by the spark of life in you

for it may forever go into irreversible hide

to leave you on your own without any clue.

Mind is bad adviser, and heart could be worse

on a market of lies and on a shopping spree

you might buy more than afforded by your purse

disoriented and brainwashed as you could ever be.

With no one to guide you out of life's mazes

every door around is an entrance for you

surrounded by a company of some hopeless crazies

you may miss those signposts that are just a few.

Without your guardian angel, that loyal gut feeling

you are just at mercy of every crazy whim

your passions making anything appealing

and your suspicions painting anything as grim.

So don't turn your back on your inner best friend

devote some time listening to its leading

that may be the best time you could ever spend

for those words of wisdom are always worth heeding.

Nice verse, Val. Our guardian angels do more than just give us advice. Mine have kept me from being badly injured or killed on several occasions. I stop and thank them occasionally.

Michael---The more you listen to your guardian angel, the more he is willing to talk to you.

I haven't had time to read all your recent poems, Val, or many hubs at all. But those that I have read have impressed me. Good job once again. I always respect the advice of my guardian angel.
