Daydreaming and Drifting

I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I now live in Daytona Beach, Florida with my wonderful cat Sid.

daydreaming-and-drifting

We’re always in a world of fantasy,

when we’re daydreaming.

Weaving our dreams,

spinning spider webs out of memories -

that takes us far away.

To days gone by

and precious times never forgotten.

Daydreaming and spinning stories,

of times that have gone by.

Looking forward to new tomorrows,

as we go along daydreaming.

A way to sail through the days,

take us out of the ordinary,

to a time that was special

and quite extraordinary.

Looking to find the path we lost along the way,

reminding ourselves,

where we placed the key to our heart,

when we locked our love inside.

So that when a true love comes by,

we can let them close to our heart,

letting love come flowing free.

Life can make us hard,

just to get by,

but sentimental memories,

can unlock the feelings,

we thought we had lost along the way.

In a time far away,

in a different world,

from which we live in reality.

Daydreaming is a way,

to return and to remember,

what meant the most.

Just daydreaming

and drifting -

spinning our webs,

for a brand new tomorrow,

forgetting all the sorrow -

daydreaming .

This was a delightful read. The ending gives one hope for a better tomorrow and that is my type of dream.

An interest one day-dreaming. Seems to help sometimes and sometimes not. Dreaming of posibilities can be useful, I suppose. Nice thought with forward-looking poem.
