Character of God
God the Father is a spirit, and He is a person. So is the Lord Jesus Christ. It is in fact impossible to describe God in his greatness, and the magnificent beauty and power of his character, but here are some of the characteristics of God: Love, justice, goodness, holiness, righteous, wisdom, sovereign, faithful, never changes, gracious, merciful.
We must remember that He is God Almighty, and we must have the proper respect for Him and his words. We must live a life of obedience to Him and his words. We must have the proper fear of God. We cannot take his salvation lightly. We must be loyal and faithful to Him, and not deny Him or his words before people.
Out of the love and character of God, who gave his Son to die on the cross for us, God sends the Good News (Gospel) of salvation from Hell into the Kingdom of Heaven into the world. The message is for all to repent of their sins and believe in the blood of the Lord Jesus to cleanse us from our sins, and to repent and turn to a life of obedience and devotion to God, and so we will receive the Holy Spirit to guide and enable us. This is one of the most important things that flow out of the character of God.
People must not make the mistake of believing that all these characteristics of God apply to them. They apply to people who have obeyed the Good News (Gospel). The rest of the people are still under the wrath and judgment of God.
