Cell Reboot

Updated on September 8, 2017

I am 7 years old.
I have trillions of cells inside me.
I love going to school.
I love to play with my friends.
I hate being bored.
I wish my stuffed animals could talk.

Cell Reboot.

I am 14 years old.
I have trillions of cells inside me.
I hate going to school.
I love to gossip with my friends.
I think my parents are so embarrassing.
I wish I could be an adult already.

Cell Reboot.

I am 21 years old.
I go to school 24/7.
I love drinking wine with my friends.
I battle against my demons.
I wish life would just slow down.

Cell Reboot.

The only thing
that has never changed
within my lifetime
is my name.
I cling to it
with my entire,
changing, being
so I can remember
my humble beginings
and forget
every time you
poisoned my skin
with your venomous lips
and tainted fingertips.

Cell Reboot.

I have new skin
of which you have
never touched.
I made it myself
with blood, sweat, and tears
forged of stardust
and ripped from atoms
that took their time
so they never had
to feel your skin
against mine.

Cell Reboot.
