Love is like a turbulent wave, it can drag you deep beneath the surface of the oceans, pulling you back in every time you try to escape only to drown out your screams and blur your vision as you try to see through the rushing water or it could launch you into high heavens, letting you touch the sky and make you feel like you can conquer the world. This feeling, this emotion is highly sought after by anyone who has a beating heart and is quietly anticipated by people who shut theirs off. We hear about its nobility, how it stretches over any distance, how it will never break, and how it will enrich and colour your life. But as life shows, anything that is good can also be used for bad.
Love is a weapon of light, but it’s also a crutch. It can either warms your soul or burn you to a crisp, which is why some of the greatest acts of revenge are done using love. Why do you think romantic scams are some of the most popular scams to run? Do you think those women were just that nice to give out $10k to someone they barely know?
When you fall in love, you lose all senses. You do things you wouldn’t have normally done. You say things that you wouldn’t normally say. And that’s because there’s an idea in their head. An idea of a family. An idea of a loving future. An idea of someone by your side, no matter what. Everyone craves it, it’s biological. Through no fault of their own, they are automatically vulnerable to their beating heart, because that is what love is: a drug. And what happens when you take too many drugs?
And that is why I’m going to use it against you. No injuries sustained will hurt as bad as a betrayed heart. I will use your love to open the doors for me to drag all of you down into the fire that burned me.
