My life is an open book. Each of my stories has a bit of me in them. I love to tell stories. Join me on my journey.

Stephanie

“Hey, Is this seat taken?” Michael says.

“No,” I say.

OMG. He’s here. Don’t panic, stay calm. Eat slow. Watch your manners. OMG!! The same boy who picking on me. Who knew he turn out to be nice and charming?

“So this is your first year here?” Michael says.

“Yes.”

Having him sit in front of me causes everything in stark white cafeteria disappear.

“Where did you live before?”

“The City,” I say.

“AAW. It must be nice. I don’t get uptown much.” Michael says.

I must have made a face at him. He’s laughing.

“Uptown? That is the silliest word I have ever heard.”

Michael burst into laughter.

“I like you. You’re cute. Can I walk you to class?”

He says after he stops laughing.

My heart nearly stops.

I flop down on my bed remembering the touch of my hand from Michael after he handed my books back to me at the door of my classroom. I replay the entire day’s event in my head. What is it about him? A little bit rebel, a little bit nice guy. He says some of most heartwarming things as we walk the hallway, but the leather jacket makes him look so fine.

A nice routine occurred for months. A pleasant lunch with Michael, an escort to my next class and an accompaniment to my bus after school. But today, I haven’t seen him all day. The final bell rang. I walk to my bus slower than usual, taking my time to look around. I see him. He runs up to me breathless.

“I caught you before you left. I made something for you in shop class.” He hands me something and brushes against my skin setting it on fire.

“Thanks. What is it?”

“A leather bracket.” He puts it on my wrist.

“I wanted you to have something to remember me. I’m not coming back after the break.”

I gasped. “Why.”

“I’m leaving school.”

“You can’t.”

“I have to. I don’t have a choice.” He shakes his head as if to clear his thoughts. “I will never forget you. You have changed me. Stay sweet.”

He leans to my lips and leaves the sweetest kisses that heat up my insides.

“I’m going to miss you.”

Before you go, tell me if you think Frederick should fight for Stephanie's attention.

Should Michael drop out of school for reasons he won't tell Stephanie?
