BRAINSTORMING: WHERE AM I?

A New Door?

It was time to clean my house. I've been a VERY BUSY woman, these days, and I admit, my house has become a walk-in clutter. Basically, I moved in and continued my days of working 10-12 hours a day, as a factory machine operator.

But enough of that. Today, I finally took a day off from the hard work I had offered. Within a matter of hours, I have gotten one room done. I noticed how a ratty door was hiding within the ceiling of my long, walk-in closet. Obviously, curiosity got the best of me. I grabbed a ladder and a flashlight, and I crawled in.

Once I've made it up, I felt nothing but cold and damp. "What on earth?" I asked myself, attempting to see what I've touched. To my luck, my flashlight was dead.

SLAM! I looked back into the darkness behind me. Wherever I was, I knew that I couldn't go back now.

Fumbling Through the Darkness...

I HATED the dark. Anything could happen. My heart began to throb faster, as my panic sank in.

I banged my foot against the floor, hoping to hear the echo of wood beneath me. "HELP!" I shouted, hoping someone could hear me. Perhaps the neighbors that lived below me? Why did it sound so thick? Blindly, I crawled along the cold, damp floor.

My clothes were getting drenched. I could hear water dripping all around me. The smell of clay and mold invaded my nose, but I refused to stop crawling.

The dark room rumbled, following the sound of a grumble. I froze, afraid to make a sound.

I Think I'm In a Cave...

Without a warning, I felt something land on each side of me. I could near a faint growl, before me.

"Help me," I squeaked, tucking my head over my arms.

Pathetic, a voice mocked within my head. Something shifted me over, as I instinctively curled into a ball.

"Please don't hurt me," I begged. I started to shiver, but I couldn't tell whether it was from fear or from feeling so cold.

Quit your whining.

"Who are you to say such rude things?" I barked, crying. "I'm lost, I'm cold, I can't see anything, and I have no clue what I'm currently facing. I'm not sure, but I THINK I'm in a cave!"

Why didn't you just say so?

Suddenly, things went green. Was this night vision? Cautiously, I looked around the cave. Something big was moving at the corner of my eye.

It's a Tiger? It's a Crab? What IS It??

Towering over me was what looked like a big cat. Why was it so big? Is that a SHELL on its back? I have never seen anything like it.

Curious, I got back onto my feet and faced it. "Where am I?" I asked, looking around. I couldn't have gone far, but I couldn't find the door I came from. There was no turning back. Hello caverns, here I come.....
