A Memory to Live On

You saw Jesus walking in your garden
Did he say anything about me
I guess every soul is on its own
I'll follow the sunset on my way home

Can you ever say that it really happened
What’s true is that I really was there
You said you remember turning out the light
Now we’re grown but being young felt right

I know you never did outgrow my kiss
It was more than making it through the night
It was about never spending another day
Listening to what the world had to say

You gave me a memory to live on
We were friends and we parted that way
How strange to love someone not meant to be
Especially when if you ask they would agree
