My Heart's Liege
Juliet Austin- Is an Equal Right's Activist, along with prose about Nature she also writes poetry detailing political issues.
Like the color of my hair
The changes they are constant
Some things cannot
however, change
The beauty - mark that upon the cheek
The texture of my hair
The way I walk, my speech.
The shape and color of my eyes
My mouth.
My nose you do profess to find pleasing
The laugh lines that have their place
The heart that which within me beats.
But what can and always will is the love
that within me builds.
It grows in leaps and bounds
But in that, too, it's not a given
For if my love doth change over time
That feeling no longer sublime!
Within accord duplicity
And doth become, ungentle, lacking kindness
Then the changes will ever apparent
In honesty, I care not about your Political affiliations
Your title, your physicalities
It is the goodness within that radiates
that captures, your honesty, and willingness
To see within me that none but you
can see.
You are indeed worthy of me!
Hand me my sword and shield
Flank to flank I protect and give my heartfelt allegiance.
