Novel: The Suitable Inheritor by Pushpendra Mehta
Novel: The Suitable Inheritor by Pushpendra Mehta

I remember writing a courteous e-mail to Pushpendra after reading an excerpt from the novel, The Suitable Inheritor. I was entranced by the plot and the way the characters were weaved so eloquently.

Pushpendra, a magnanimous person and a good friend that he is, candidly replied, “I wrote the novel with my heart, soul, and mind completely immersed into it. I wrote without any commercial consideration or target audience in mind. I just wrote for myself. I wrote with all the sincerity and honesty at my command. I wrote as if I wanted to share a message with the readers to attempt to add value to their lives.”

What a spontaneous remark, truly, I thought to myself. It is indeed commendable when authors like him set doctrines to coherently elucidate what the true "labour of love" requires. Though the novel is a complete fictional account, but Pushpendra’s writing exemplifies a bona fide flair for human-emotions; holding an instinctive aptitude in the creative writing craft. In addition, it serves as a self-help book. So give it a shot!

What Did I Learn?

Oh, it is noteworthy to mention that it is one of best novels that I have read in 2016. Yes, novels like these add value and meaning in the lives of readers. Well, reading this novel was a life-changing experience. I was fully absorbed right from its commencement till its denouement.

Although the story touches on other aspects, nonetheless, there was a hidden message of having a sound relationship – listening to your inner-soul’s voice. Sometimes in our lives, we come across certain people to whom we give so much importance out of innocence. We love them unconditionally. We keep them above our priorities, sacrificing our own comfort and time. Just when we are unable to fulfill their needs or expectations, they eschew us from their life. There lies a very thin line between willful-blindness and self-awareness. We must know their true intentions before allowing them in our heart. Heart is very tender; extremely delicate. It should never be handed in the hands of an unworthy person. Better to test the waters before jumping into the swimming pool. Better to be in the company of the one who values you back. Better to love someone who marries with your simplicity, rather than the materialistic world. Be aware of the seasonal frogs, my dear ones. A true love ought to be reciprocal not transactional. Again, all is well that ends well.

The Plot in a Nutshell

In the novel, Mehta presents a new era to the genre of romance by intriguing his readers with a peculiar fabric of emotions that is woven with love, sacrifice, success, self-discovery, and peace.

The novel encircles around Michael Elliott, who is the main character in the novel. Michael had been witnessing cyclical dreams of a ravishing lady dressed in white, leading him to the magnificent Pacific Ocean and elevating him to discover his concealed potentials. His inner voice resounds in the depths of his thoughts that something majestic will happen in Lima, perhaps with his destiny. As he pedals his heart for the business trip to Lima, his aspirations turn out to be beyond his expectations. In the blink of an eye, his life unfurls into a new chapter when he meets an illuminary, a visionary, and a relationship coach named, Andrew Smith. However, the motive behind their rendezvous is discovered as the journey inwardly progresses. During their meeting, Andrew exposes the chapters of his personal life with Michael, articulating him ab intio as regard to the woman behind his success. The woman in question is called, Dorothy, who led Andrew to see a vivid image of success and subsequently vanished without any trace.

Though Michael appeared to be moved by Andrew’s heart-rending story due to the disappearance of Dorothy, yet never had he imagined that Dorothy would play a radical role behind the scenes. The story will make your heart melt, and you will feel an enchanting thrill. It will exquisitely indoctrinate you about pure love, self-awareness, destiny, and peace of mind. Can Michael unlock the key to his true destiny? Well, you gotta find out!

I urge every reader to read this novel. You will wrap yourself up with an opulence of sweet-wisdom. It will help you to preserve your relationships, be it with your friends, family or lovers. I am sure you will all relish it. Sip it with joy . . . with love and care.

Surabhi - The storytelling looks promising, at least to me. I had written a few chunks of articles on relationships on a few newsletters. You describe the review with a dexterous log. Fresh writing. I would like to read this novel.

Hari Bhaiya,

I cannot thank you enough for your benevolence. You show a profound understanding in my passages. Well, it is indeed relevant. Still, we humans tend to live in illusion. Not a positive approach to live a healthy life. Self-esteem is very important, yes. Felt like I was drifting away, but now I have found my grip. Ah! the poor child in us! What can we say? The Supreme eventaully directs us in His own ways. It is all His 'Lila'... his Divine game.

Out to the library. Thanks for being a true friend. Love.

Hi Pushpendra,

I am delighted to find your kind sentiments here, my Dear. Your novel deserves a standing ovation. And, yes, what else did we miss? Ha ha. Not to forget, it can be adapted into a movie one day – more like an autobiographical account of Michael Elliott. My best wishes with you always. Thank you for gracing this hub with your presence. I appreciate it from the bottom of my Heart. Radhaswami.
