A recently retired academic. I have taught and carried out research within the field of cognitive psychology for many years. My scientific training was preceded by advanced studies in the philosophy of science; I was also a registered psychologist.
I regard science as the most rigorous way ever devised to acquire information about the world. Yet, I object to the temptation to elbow out, in its name, other forms of knowledge and experience. I find that the clash between diverse ways of knowing is a crucible in which fresh insights about the nature of ultimate reality may arise. This attitude is reflected in some of my blogs.
